BUDDIES PROGRAM
(Leaders
from 16 to 30 years) |
This program is a
branch of St Vincent de Paul, where trained leaders from
our parish spend time with young people (aged 5-12 years) from
disadvantaged families. Time is spent either at the parish
involved in fun activities or on outings to places like bowling,
local parks, movies or the beach. This provides much
needed time out for families and encourages the participants to
engage in positive recreational activities, make friends and
have fun.
Our leaders (senior students
/ young volunteers) are encouraged to organise Buddies with the
support of our Youth Co-Ordinator. Schools can also
provide valuable resources (eg pool, sports equipment, art and
craft etc) and are often used as venues for Buddies' days. |
