What are we about?

Altitude has so much to offer for the students of years 7 to 12.  There are about 50 youth who attend our fortnightly get togethers, along with 14 young adults from within the parish who are committed to leading this group.

The night begins at 6.30pm with hang time, then a big game to run around and be silly, dinner & desert, a quiet time listening to a talk, musical worship, and time in a small group "A CELL GROUP".

In the hang out zones, we hang out and play various games including table soccer, real soccer, hand ball, beading, cards, xbox (sometimes!), Twister and Jenga.  After this, the big game commences.  During the big game the kids have more time to run about and use up more energy in the undercover area.  After the big game its dinner time!  Our head chef always cooks up something delicious....anything from hot dogs to lasagne.

When all the food has been completely devoured, we then head back up to the parish centre to listen to the speaker of the night who provides us with a faith topic.  After this, we break into small groups for discussion about the reflection.  This is a time when friendships are formed, ideas are shared and relationships are built.  These groups (Cells) are gender and age based with a young adult leader, and we try to keep them the same from fortnight to fortnight to encourage a supportive network of friends.

At the conclusion of small groups we return to the parish centre, and as parents arrive at 9.30pm, names are called out and youth are individually signed out.
